The Mid Life 80’s are a comedy/vocal duo offering an original and unique trip back through the decade that was the 1980’s.
We cover the music, television, film, news and fashion trends epitomising this period with a mixture of original comedy, sketches and songs. Suitable for all audiences, we can tailor our show to suit your venue.
Mid Life 80’s
From a very early age Paul wanted to be a comedian.It all started with dressing up in his dads mac and imitated Frank Spencer at a family gathering.From then on it was a regular feature at any family event.
After his first holiday to Butlins Paul was bitten by the bug and was determined to follow his career ambition a s a redcoat he started then to develop his skills entering talent shows and getting up on stage at any opportunity.
“I was happy if i,d succeeded in making people laugh”.
Paul had his first taste of television in the early 1990’s. He appeared on Keith Chegwins Star Search .
“I will always remember Nicky Campbell’s comments………..” Great comedy timing. A real hope for the future.
During this time as a redcoat his confidence grew developing new skills as a compering and dancing. After leaving Butlins in the late 90’s Paul took a position with Openwide International working as an entertainer for first choice holidays abroad where he was able to firmly establish his act, Paul continues to push boundaries and establish his act by avenues such as comedy clubs , hotels , Corporate events , panto’s and holiday parks.
Paul has supported and compered for major stars and feels completely at home on a stage and has recently been in the West End appearing in the very successful play Factor 2025 and is currently touring the country before returning to the West End.
Mid Life 80’s
Wayne has had over 25 years in the entertainment industry. He learned his trade as a Bluecoat entertainer for Pontins. Upon leaving Pontins, he worked as a comedy entertainer at many venues, both at home and overseas.
After a while, the opportunity arose for Wayne to become an Entertainments Manager at a prestigious Holiday Park in Norfolk, which he excelled at. From there, he was successful in creating his own entertainments team, and this allowed Wayne to keep his compering skills and comedy routine polished.
After several successful seasons Wayne returned to full time entertainment and has recently written a sitcom; which is currently being reviewed by the BBC. This is how he met his new comedy partner…….. who was a co-writer, along with one other.
The duo’s love of comedy and making people laugh is how the idea for an 80’s show was born.
